The first thing I noticed when I played Fallout 4 on both my high-end gaming rig as well as my laptops was the significant mouse lag.
Since contraptions came out I have amassed quite a bit of resources (for me) in one settlement. The problem I'm now having is that when building in my settlement I get a lot of lag. This happens when I place things from the build menu, craft items, and move resources directly from a workbench. Anything that has to do with adding or removing resources from the settlement.
Sometimes it can take from a few seconds to as long as a minute before completing the action. Has anyone had an issue like this and figured out a way to fix it?On a side note I am also having issues assigning settlers to jobs. I assign, they acknowlege the assignment, and basically nothing happens.AMD 8370 [email protected] 740GT 4gb16GB Ripjaws. What settlement are you working in? The delay in assigning settlers has been an ongoing issue with Abernathy Farm, for instance.
The menu speed and functionality directly correlates to the FPS you are getting in an area - if your game is chugging to display the area then the menus are also going to be slow. I can see this in Home Plate in my game because I added workbenches in various parts of the space, and the fog in there makes my FPS drop when facing certain areas. Opening the workshop while in one of the low-FPS corners makes the menu slow, too. Originally posted by:This is a well known bug, Fallout 4 stores every single item in the workshop as it's own separate item reference.
Settlers (and automatrons) each poll the workshop to find out what items are in it which results in massive lag as the game has to check the referneces of hundreds of thousands of items.Build a storage container next to your workshop, move all the items into it, the lag will go away. There's also a mod out there that fixes this bug by combining all the references into one object. Are you talking about the Manufacturing Extended mod or something else entirely?
